Sterling’s Angela Preston Announced as Chair of NAPBS Board of Directors for 2018-2019

NEW YORK, Oct. 11, 2018 – Angela Preston—Senior Vice President and Counsel, Corporate Ethics and Compliance at Sterling—the global leader in employment background screening solutions—has been named the new Chair of the Board of Directors of the National Association of Professional Background Screeners (NAPBS®).

Her one-year term in the organization’s top leadership role commenced at the 2018 NAPBS Annual Conference, held October 7-9 in Baltimore, Maryland.

With a mission of advancing excellence in the screening profession, NAPBS—which represents over 880 member companies across the U.S and abroad—is the leading global resource for professionals in the screening industry.

A seasoned professional in the background screening industry—with extensive expertise in consumer protection law including the Fair Credit Reporting Act, privacy law, EEO law and regulatory compliance—Preston is a tenured member of the NAPBS Board of Directors, having previously served as Chair-Elect, Director and Secretary/Treasurer. Preston earned her law degree from Capital University Law School and bachelors from Ohio Dominican University. Throughout her career, she has specialized in government affairs, compliance best practices and policy initiatives.

Founded as a non-profit trade association in 2003, NAPBS is based in Raleigh, North Carolina. Members range from Fortune 100 companies to small local businesses, conducting millions of employment related and tenant background checks each year as part of the hiring and leasing process.
