FTC Tips For Job Applicants and Employees

November 13th, 2014 | Sterling

As reported in our prior EEOC and FTC Offer Joint Tips, in March of this year, the Federal Trade Commission (“FTC”) and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (“EEOC”) released two joint publications, Background Checks: What Employers Need to Know and Background Checks: What Job Applicants and Employees Should Know. This month, the FTC issued a follow-up guide: Tips for Job Applicants and Employees. This guide is quite similar to the first publication and can be viewed as a general reminder to employers to review the FTC guidelines and make sure their practices and policies are in compliance with federal law and any state and local equivalents.
